Passing the Torch
I’m super excited to announce the passing of the Pink Chalk torch to fellow modern quilter Adrianne Ove of Little Bluebell. I will leave it to Adrianne to share her plans for where things go from here, but I will tell you I love the direction and her creative vision. I am certain it will be an inspired contribution to the online community of modern quilting.
Adrianne is an active member of The Modern Quilt Guild and served as President of the Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild for two years. She is also a pattern designer and photographer. Visual beauty is on the agenda! We are in good hands.
I’m moving forward into the next chapter of my creative journey with beautiful Pink Chalk experiences close to my heart and a sense of peace that I’ve expressed my creative truth for the last ten years in a community of supportive and like-minded sewists. With all my love, thank you for that.

Hi everyone! My name is Adrianne and I’ve been a long-time reader and customer of Pink Chalk. I remember cheering from the sidelines when Kathy first started selling fabric from her dining room back in 2008. What a rush it was to watch this fellow creative Mama forge her own path and build a business around her love of fabric and sewing. It was bittersweet to read earlier this month that Kathy has decided it’s time for her to move on from Pink Chalk. She has been a source of inspiration and encouragement for so many years and I will miss her as a blogger and shop owner. At the same time, I am excited for her to follow her heart and start something new. She is such a talented and creative lady.
When Kathy posted that she was selling Pink Chalk, an unexpected spark was lit inside of me. It was time for me to follow my own gut and take on a new challenge – becoming the new owner of Pink Chalk!! I’ve been looking to start a new business within the quilting community that I love so much. The opportunity to continue the Pink Chalk story is both serendipity and a dream come true.
There is already some fun stuff in the works and I look forward to getting to know all of you. I’m excited to continue to share fabric and quilting news and also introduce some fun new ideas of my own. I have always admired Kathy’s authenticity and enthusiasm, especially when it came to the modern quilting community. Please pardon the dust as I get settled in. The pattern shop will re-open shortly and starting today you will find me here regularly on the blog.
Stay tuned tomorrow when we celebrate a new fabric release. Hint… it might have something to do with the stack up there on the left. : )

I remembered my first (and only due to not have any spare monies) purchase from Pink Chalk. It came in boxes and it was filled to the brim.
Kathy filled it with extra candies that I was over the moon. I did not realize it that I was actually her first international customer.

Yea! I was so sad to see the store close, had enjoyed the good service and fun fabrics that I could buy. It was close to my home on the west coast in Canada, and alway got orders quickly. Glad to see the store continue, will love to see what’s in store for the future. Merry Christmas!

sounds exciting. not sure i knew that you guys were transitioning. where exactly are you located physically? michigan? a new year is always exciting. perhaps this is the year that i might try a sew along or something. they’ve been going on for a few years, but i have yet to step on board. i’m just getting my feet wet with the modern quilt guild thing and liking some of what i see. it will be a little difficult to participate fully since the US dollar is so terrible (sort of 1 1/2 times of our canadian looney…) but i do (honestly!) have enough fabric so surely i should go ahead and use it up. this may be the incentive…i need to so do it.
please let me know everything about the upcoming events (and the giveaway!!). i assume i’m already on your mailing list if i received this email.
