What We’re Making! Secret Santa Gift Exchange

on Nov 20, 2013 in What We're Making | 8 comments

The Chalkettes are doing a gift exchange for the holidays. We decided to give our gifts early so we can share them with you. Names were exchanged with a list of favorite colors, candy, movies and other fun info to inspire creative design. We each picked a downloadable zippered pouch pattern then tailored our design to our secret recipient. For 4 weeks, 10 women kept a secret! It was so hard not to talk and share details about our bags or fabric selection. These are the things we talk about everyday. When the bags were completed we each guessed who made what for whom.

Watch for a blog post on each pattern listed below.
Color Block Zippered Pouches – V & Co. pattern
– For the blog post on V & Co. Color Block Pouches.
Gathered Clutch – Noodlehead pattern – For the blog post on Gathered Clutch
Amelie Bow Purse – Atelier Joy pattern – For the blog post on Amelie Bow Purse
Perfect Zip Bags – Elizabeth Hartman patttern – For the blog post on Perfect Zip Bags
Dorothy Clutch – Charlie’s Aunt pattern – For the blog post on The Dorothy Clutch
The Essential Wristlet – Dog Under My Desk pattern – For the blog post on The Essential Wrislet

At this point we all know who made each bag but we don’t know who the recipient is… well… except for a few obvious giveaway details. At least we can talk about them now! That’s a relief.

I hope you’ll follow along to see detailed photos and helpful tips for each bag pattern used.
Happy gift making!

  5. Love your website (fabric heaven!) and I enjoy making pouches …. I’ve been making them very simply without a pattern so now I’m excited to do more with the Elizabeth Hartman pattern. What a fun gift exchange! Thank you for sharing your love of sewing and providing a source of lovely fabric.
