What We’re Making! 107 The Mississippi Avenue Dress & Top by Sew House Seven

Becky stitch up 107 The Mississippi Avenue Dress & Top from Sew House Seven. The fabric she selected is an imported double gauze from Ellen Luckett Baker Framework Quarter Circles in Coral.

The cut of the Mississippi Dress pattern features a V-neckline, spaghetti shoulder ties, an elastic almost empire waist (slightly higher than the natural waistline).

As a sleeveless style, it lends itself to spring and summer dressing. However it makes a great transition piece when paired with a cardigan, tights and boots. There are three options for length, high hip tunic length, above the knee and below the knee like Becky’s.

The encased elastic wraps around the sides and back leaving the front panel flat where we all hope to be flat naturally. Becky chose to leave the spaghetti ties off the shoulders which gives the dress modest coverage on the shoulders.

Happy sewing!
