Where I Sew – Heather Jones
I am Heather Jones and I own Heather Jones Studio. I combine my love of fine art and vintage quilts with unexpected inspiration in my unique modern patchwork designs, which I offer through both patterns and finished quilts. My projects are fresh interpretations of the traditional art of quilt making, easy to construct, and have a strong graphic quality. I also teach workshops throughout the county, as well as online on Creativebug.com. I have been published in numerous books and magazines, most recently as a contributing author of Lucky Spool’s “Essential Guide to Modern Quilt Making” (July 2014), and have just completed by first solo publication with STC Craft| Melanie Falick Books which will be released in the Fall of 2015.

Looking at your sewing area makes me realize I really need to get a counter height cutting table.

Looks like a lovely light room, I’m guessing she swept the floor before taking photographs, mine is always littered with thread!

Looks like you have a friend to keep you company while you sew.

I love how your sewing machine is in front of a window. You must get wonderful natural light while sewing. PS Adorable kitty!

One of my favorite designers. So nice to see your space!!

Very nicely organized sewing room. Mine is very cluttered and I easily get side tracked with other project ideas, usually too many on the go!

Love your tall cutting table…I hope to have one in my future room!

So neat and modern, I am very jealous 🙂

I’m loving all the neat and organized sewing rooms. I’m tempted to post mine just to scare you! Note to self: Maybe I need to spring clean the sewing space. Major destash. LOL

Next item I need in my sewing room is a tall cutting table! At 6′ tall, a sore back is a common occurrence!

Love Heathers view out the window.

Your room is layer out so nicely.

I love the clean color on the walls…allows the fabrics to really pop when working.

I love that your cat got into the picture – my cat (well, one of my cats) is always into my sewing and knitting and sometimes I even have to put him in kitty “time out” (i.e. in the bedroom for a little bit) so that I can get something done!

I see you have a supervisor too. Mine is also a designer and will rearrange quilts as she sees fit. I envy you all your space. Sincerely, Paula K.q

I keep sewing stuff in great big old crocks too! Great space!

So organized. I just started sewing a year ago with my very talented daughter and my space is my son’s old room, which I brightened up with a palette of white. The fabrics bring in all the colour! Love the kitty, we have one also orange that loves lying on the cutting table or ironing board.

I love your space – especially your helper cat (or maybe supervisor cat). I have one too! Thanks!

I love how tall the cutting table is. I have a cutting table but even though I am short, I think it isn’t quite tall enough.

So clean and tidy! Looks like a good workspace.

Love your space, so clean and organized. It would take me a month to get my room clean enough to take pictures! It needs help. 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway and the sewing space inspiration.

Heathers a big inspiration

My yellow cat seems to think he belongs in the middle of my sewing room too! Thanks for the peek in your space.

I love looking out a window when I sew (well, not when I’m actually sewing- that might be dangerous!). The only bummer is the early winter darkness. Thanks for sharing your space!

I’m loving the sign on the wall “Keep calm and carry on.” It reminds me of my trip to England this spring where I saw the sign in numerous shops. Evidently it has some significance there. Your sewing space is spacious. kthurn@bektel.com
