Buttonholes! I have been sewing since I was 12 years old but have largely avoided designs that required the addition of buttonholes. Those I have made resulted in varying degrees of success.

Highlight: Kona Color of the Year
This is awesome. I had been playing with yellow and various prints for a(nother) new quilt for weeks in the back of mind. In my mind, the palette was tending toward your ‘olive as a neutral’ scheme. How interesting!

Improv Sewing Book Giveaway + Free Pattern
I’ve been an improv sewist since high school. I basically would use a patter as a guideline for size (less measuring that way) and make additions and revisions to make the garment look the way it did in my mind’s eye 🙂


Where I Sew Month 2012
Where I Sew is very inspiring. Maybe someday my sewing space will be as tidy as the featured spaces…but I am rather skeptical 🙂
