I’m glad to see less use of the word “modern” – it seemed to engender some unpleasantness among us. I love the openness, community, and growth of quilting.

Love the colors of both collections! Just as the amount of daylight grows shorter, you show us the bright colors of these fabrics. I also like that they are on different base cloths. Lots more opportunity for creativity. Thanks!

Re: your mini-mid-life crisis – I hope it stays mini. I am just a few years ahead of you in life. I do not pretend, nor am I asking, to know what the dimensions of the “MMLC” are, but know that you are not alone and you will make it through. A great quilting book has beautiful photographs of the quilts featured. A bonus is showing a different colorway for at least one block of the quilt. The book ideally has a variety of quilts requiring a range of skills. Suggestions for how the quilt could be quilted are also helpful. I also like to see different methods for assembling the blocks so there is an opportunity to try different techniques.
