Kathy Greer member of, our local Bainbridge Modern Quilt Guild is the winner of Modern Quilts Unlimited 2013 Fresh Ideas Block Challenge. Data Streaming appears in the Fall 2013 issue of Modern Quilt Unlimited, with her quilt Data Streaming. Congrats Kathy!

Kathy says in the magazine, “For the past year I have been focusing on developing my skills as an artist and have kept a sketchbook of ideas. When I received the email regarding the Fresh Ideas Block Challenge, I decided to subit an entry from my sketchbook as a means to receive feedback.

Inspired by golden rectangles and Josef Albers work with nested squares, Data Streaming is the first design from my sketchbook I’ve shared. Imagine my surprise when I won the contest! Thank you to the MQU team for both their kindness and support. I’m encouraged to continue my artistic journey.”

The back of Kathy’s quilt is just as fabulous as the front. Love it!

For those of you interested in Kathy’s color choices she selected Kona Cotton Amber, Paprika, Corn Yellow, Eggplant and White.
Happy quilting!
