Where I Sew – Melody Miller

on Jul 2, 2013 in Where I Sew | 92 comments

Melody Miller has been designing the Ruby Star fabric lines for Kokka since 2010, with her sixth collection, Ruby Star Polka Dot, arriving in stores this summer. Her book Ruby Star Wrapping is a complete guide to creative, resourceful, and reusable gift packaging.

Melody lives in Atlanta, in picturesque and historic Grant Park with her husband and two children. She and her husband both work from their home, so they have to be very creative about their use of space. Melody’s sewing space is tucked into her dining room. She loves vintage design, flea markets, her converse sneaks and margaritas. Most times, in moderation.

  1. The turquoise is great! I’m old enough to remember that style of sofa and what a great collection of arrows beside it.

  4. Gosh I love that couch!! I’m always amazed to find out that fabulous designers live in the same area as me, don’t know why, but it’s a goofy thing. I lOVE her work, and that you can always tell when something is in her line.

  16. The curtains look similar to what’s in my sewing room: White doesn’t distort colors and semi-sheers allow light to pass through without compromising privacy.
