Where I Sew Month 2013
Where we create can be just as much fun to plan, organize and dream about as What we plan to make there! This is the spirit behind Where I Sew month here on the Pink Chalk Studio blog.
During July we’ll be taking a virtual tour and sharing a peek at the sewing spaces of some of our favorite designers and sewing enthusiasts. Real spaces where real people sew. This year’s line up of contributors will knock your socks off, I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!
To add a little fun to the mix be sure to comment all month long – 50 lucky sewists will win a $20 Pink Chalk Fabrics Gift Certificate to stock their own sewing room stash. Yes, we’re giving away $1,000 worth of fabric, patterns and notions! The more you comment the better your odds.

And, of course, the tour wouldn’t be complete without a stop at your house! See instructions below on how to add your sewing room to the mosaic. Let’s go!
[inlinkz_linkup id=290425]
How to add your picture to the mosaic:
- Press the ‘Add Your Link’ button at the bottom of the mosaic.
- Enter a URL. This can be a blog post where you’ve given us a tour of your sewing room or a link to a photo of your sewing space on Flickr or a Picasa album (Facebook doesn’t seem to want to work!).
- You’ll then select a specific picture from that source to appear in the Where I Sew mosaic.
- Don’t worry about messing up. You can always remove it and do it again!
Grab a button:

Troubleshooting this code: if you do not see the button appear after you cut and paste the code, your browser may have turned the straight quotes into curly quotes or added extra curly quotes so you’ll see a set of straight quotes followed by a set of curly quotes (no idea why it does this – very crazy!). Be sure they’re all straight and/or remove the extras.

What a lovely idea! I’d love to see how everyone else has set up theirs as I am forever running out of space! I am just about to change things around in mine so maybe I should take a few pictures of the setup before I change… Or, just maybe I should wait awhile to get all the super ideas from all the rooms you are going to show!

Great timing! It’s a slow process, but we are making repairs and refinishing some items in our basement to become the hobby room. I get half-ish, hubby gets half-ish. 😉 This will be a great way to gather ideas and inspiration!

Have you always had a way for people to post their own? Such a nice way to gather ideas for the home space!

I just love seeing other people’s sewing space and I’m always a green eyed monster when I see the huge space everyone seems to have.I have just had a revamp of my tiny room, so was the perfect time to take photos to share whilst its tidy! It is never likely to look this tidy again 🙂 It is under the heading “Tiny but all mine”

How fun seeing where we all sew and create – I do think it’s funny that all our spaces look extremely clean and tidy and probably not how they would look if you came and visited us.

I’m in the middle of packing for a move, so although my space is unspeakably unviewable so I wont share, I’m looking forward to finding ideas about how to set up the new one!

How fun to see the sewing spaces of the less-famous as well as the more-famous. (Although some of the links above have names that are familiar from the online world–there are more and more ways to become “known” these days.)
Thanks for putting this together. All the effort on your parts resulted in a great month for us.
