Fat Quarter Tuesday Giveaway – Miscellany by Julia Rothman + Botanika by Paula Prass

on Aug 16, 2011 in Weekly Giveaway | 271 comments

Miscellany by Julia Rothman is the latest addition to Cloud9 Fabrics price sensitive organic fabric collections. The quality and feel of the cotton is silky smooth and the colors vibrant. The design elements in Julia’s artwork show amazing versatility on cloth.

Made up as a simple hand tied quilt, the scale of the prints work beautifully together. Project details available on the Cloud9 Fabrics website.

Co-founders Michelle Engel Bencsko and Gina Pantastico carried these bags at the Spring 2011 Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. I spotted them from across the convention center, just beautiful. The Noodlehead 241 Tote downloadable pattern is available in the shop.

Today we’re giving away a full collection Miscellany FQ set.

A huge thanks to Cloud9 for allowing us to use their fabulous photos.

Paula Prass’ Botanika showcases her signature style of pairing soft floral elements with strong design coordinates all colored with a vibrant, bold palette. The fabrics work well on a variety of projects from home decor to aprons.

I shared this quote from Paula in a recent newsletter:

“I began this collection a year ago when I was inspired by a trip to San Diego. I spent time at the beautiful Balboa Gardens, walked by incredible cottages in La Jolla and soaked up the beauty of it all. Even the birds seemed happier to be living in such a glorious place. So I began sketching and painting what I gathered in photographs and my imagination.”

The chevron stripe is stunning in how well the hand-painted brush strokes are rendered on cloth.

This week’s giveaway is for the above set of Botanika FQs.
