Return of the Aurifil Blog Hop Blocks

on Jul 5, 2011 in Quilting | 220 comments

I had a great time participating in the Aurifil Blog Hop in February. Nine bloggers created nine original blocks incorporating the same two fabrics sent to us by Pat Sloan (the green on white floral print and the pink/blue/green/yellow stripe print shown in my block above). In the process, I became an Aurifil evangelist. It’s the only thread I’ll quilt with now. Silky, smooth, strong and colorful.

Pat now has all nine blocks in her possession and will be hosting a week long series of posts showing different setting fabric options and how we each voted on the choices. The festivities run from July 5 to July 9 on Pat’s blog.

There are two ways to win some fun Aurifil sponsored prizes:

  • leave a comment on this post for a chance to win one of two 5-pack sampler sets of Aurifil thread
  • leave a comment on Pat’s blog this week to win a full box of Pat’s 40wt Aurifil thread set

7/12/11 – Winner’s of the sample thread packs announced on the Fat Quarter Tuesday post. Congrats Deb and Brie!

Patterns for all nine blocks available for free download on the Aurifil website.

ps I got to make my block twice since I made the pillow above the day before Pat asked us to mail her the blocks! I used the Pink Chalk Studio Gather Up Pillow pattern available on my free pattern page. The pillow works great with any top!
